As far as we can remember, we wear clothes to protect us from cold or heat. Since the 14th century and thanks to international trades, clothes have become an important part of our lives.
Today, international brands provide us trending clothes at competitive prices. However, the manufacture needs several steps and process that damage environment, harm workers and those who wear clothes.
Textile industry is one of the most polluting industry in the world. For example, to manufacture a jean we have to grow cotton, mostly in India or Africa, which generate high environmental and social impacts, then we have to dye it in another country. Furthermore, cotton is send back in Asia to be manufacture and finally, the final product is sold all around the world ! Before being in our closet, some jeans could have travelled around the world. Every steps of the jean's circle life has profound environmental and social impacts in every countries it went to.
